Still the best overall coffee stop in town. Well-prepared coffee and options, great baked sweets, regular gluten-free days, and decent breads and snacks. I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls (Friday and Sunday): they're huge, rich, and generously-iced. The only downsides: as with any small bakery or coffee shop, you get slightly different goods on any given day; the WiFi is sometimes flaky when crowded; and sometimes you get a new batista or baker and the goods aren't up to snuff. Such is life!
Great local coffee place. Delicious coffee.Hipster atmospheres. Whole bean coffee and loose leaf tea to buy. A few games including chess sitting around.
My fiance and I visit the store very often because we absolutely freaking love the bread and baked goods. It's delicious. However, some of the staff are down right rude. Today, I took a friend with me because she wanted a post-meal coffee. She ordered her drink, and the cashier was crude and acted like my friend did/said something wrong. I then asked what rolls were available. I misheard, requested that it be repeated, and, again, felt embarrassed because of the obnoxious reply I received. It's really a shame because the atmosphere, coffee, and pastries are delicious.
It's a nice and cozy place. Seating is slightly crammed because of the small space but it didn't get too crowded while I was there. Staff was very friendly.
Bollo's is great, especially if you're a Starbucks junkie looking for better food or cheaper prices (like me). Tuesdays and Saturdays they offer several gluten free pastries and sandwich bread (sat only). They have a large selection of tea and coffee, which are less than two dollars for a large mug with a free refill. The atmosphere is laid back and easy for working or focusing on a project. Never empty nor overcrowded it offers comfortable seating and everything you need. It's so within walking distance of Virginia Tech's campus, making it very convenient for students I need of study space away from their every day environment. The pastries, bread, and snacks have been delicious every time I've tried something and the staff has always been incredibly polite and friendly. If you're coming here for tea get the congo bongo black tea if for no other reason than how good it smells. Food wise try anything--trust me it's all good.
