Beautiful location. Tasty wine. Catering staff was just okay, but I honestly don't know if they were in house or third party for the event I attended.
I found the winery staff initially welcoming, but learned how quickly that would change. While attending a Tango Event event hosted by the Sapphire Ballroom, the front desk clerk was hateful and inhospitable regarding additional food items provided on behalf of the Sapphire Ballroom. Despite the director of the Ballroom ordering additional food for the guest, the desk clerk rudely insisted that they were out of food. Within seconds of her decree, more food arrived from the kitchen. Because of her actions and mannerisms, I had had enough and left the venue. The combination of her attitude and actions, plus the lackluster taste and overpricing relative to quality of the wine , I do not recommend this winery.
Can't say how the wines taste. As we were never offered to try them. No one ever even acknowledged that we were there waited twenty minutes. Not one of the four people that we saw even said hello or anything. We were the only people there. The lady that was there when we got there said they were not doing wine tasting but you could buy a glass or bottle. She was a customer. Signs said they were doing wine tasting. Been to a lot of wineries first time we haven't at least had someone speak. Long drive out to the winery to be ignored. I would say the service stinks but cannot speak for taste of the wine. In response to the owner. We were there today got there about 210 and left about 235. The door was open said wine tasting every thirty minutes ,which is fine, we waited but Not one person even asked if we would like to buy anything. We could have taken anything we wanted. Not that we did or would but no one would have noticed. They were moving cabinets and stuff around in the back. Someone in a red truck pulled out as we were leaving. She waved at us on our way out the driveway and her way back in. Went to the White Barrell from there and they were also slow but they greeted us as soon as we walked in.
A pain to get to and no internet, but the place is beautiful and the wine if delicious (I'm not a pro though). Really helpful and knowledgeable staff.
The service and breakfast has been wonderful and delicious. I'm here for a wedding over the weekend and it's been great! The wine is great, too!
