Asked to land with a home on it was told to go to bank and get approved before seen seeing if I liked it ask again was told to go somewhere else. Jerks

Two days ago, my son identified another listing as a very good opportunity (listed the day before), and he emailed it to me. From the listing, I found the listing agent, and texted her if she could show us the property asap because I thought this would be the quickest way to actually see the property. I did not ask the listing agent to represent us specifically. The listing agent replied to my text, saying that she could not show us the property.

My agent was friendly & professional - that's the reason for the one star. Housing in my price range was dismal so I reluctantly settled on a house that was not really suitable for me and he worked to get it inspected and closed quickly.

I have no agreement with the Long & Foster Agent to represent us, nor do I have any obligation to work with him on this listing. So, I was free to work with any agent.

Priscilla is the selling agent on a house that I am buying and she has done very little to help with the sale. Her definition of "on or about" for the closing date is that she has up to 30 days to close. She did not know the specifics of the property being sold, provided incorrect information about the property and she ordered all tests and inspections so late that we needed to expedite the results to get them into my lender for closing. She just wrote an very unprofessional email to me and my agent. I have never seen anything like it and I cannot recommend her.

The house bought is what's known in this area as a "Poff house". I recently met another newcomer whose agent WOULD NOT EVEN SHOW HER a Poff house and here I was led right to them in Walnut Hills! I wish he had informed me - not being from the area I didn't know. I would NEVER have bought this house had I known. Every single contractor who has come in has said "Oh you bought a Poff house! Why?" I tell them my agent...

My house in Richmond sold first day and I was looking to find a home ASAP. I was referred to this office by the RVA realty office.

BUT the inspector he engaged was a joke. He missed massive mold on both floors, water damage, broken railings (taped together and painted over) sagging and sinking ceiling and walls that I had to replace, water damage to structural components, windows that did not open or close, a completely rotten deck which MUST be removed, malfunctioning electrical and plumbing, rot, insect and vermin infestations just to name a few. The back door was not even nailed in and an inspector should have noted it moved a great deal when opening or closing. There were many more things an honest inspector would have identified which makes me very strongly believe he was told "Just get it done, this has to close ASAP."

After my son contacted the Long & Foster Agent to show us the property, I texted the Agent about showing us the property. The Agent accepted to represent us, and indeed he showed the house to my son yesterday late afternoon. My son then sent me pics and videos of the house, and we were ready to make an offer via the Agent. But, to my shock, the Agent texted me saying that he had just contacted the "other agent" (which I understood as the listing agent), and she had disclosed to him that I had asked her to show us the property. If true, what right did she have to disclose to this Agent that I had contacted her? The Long & Foster Agent also said that she told him that I had asked her to represent me, which was totally false (I did not ask her to represent me, my text message is proof). The Agent then angrily said in his text message that he is dropping us, and refused to continue with our representation (though he had already accepted our representation and showed the property to my son). I therefore became unable submit my offer because of the limited deadline. So, we've lost the chance to purchase the place since today is the deadline. I believe that such behavior is unethical.

Laura Donnelly delivered top-notch customer service! She takes the time to listen to everything you want in your next house and then goes to work to find the best option in the area with the most of your must haves! A+ Thank you Laura Donnelly for all you do!

Rather than rush, push and urge I would have preferred a reasoned approach with other solutions offered rather than sell, close and be done with me. I feel like I was an annoying blip on the agent's radar since I was not buying a more expensive home and now I'm in a serious a financial situation. I also have put more into this house than it's worth but had to to stop leaks and create healthier air inside. Some images show pictures I thought to take before taking stove to the dump, having drywall and insulation torn out and replaced.

The house has about $75,000 worth of work needed, I've done about $40,000 and am about 1/2 done but being 65 years old on a fixed income, it remains to be seen what else gets done. I am livid that I now have a huge mortgage where before I was debt free just to make this house healthy and LIVABLE.

My son, who graduated from college last year, found employment in the Blacksburg area. We've been helping him in recent months to buy a place there. A realtor in my hometown (3h away from Blacksburg) referred me to an Agent with Long & Foster in Blacksburg. My son identified a good listing last March which this Agent showed to my son. We asked the Agent to put an offer. He made a verbal offer to the listing agent, but not in writing. We asked him to submit a written offer. Then he said that the listing agent had a couple of "good" offers, and that the listing agent told him not to bother with submitting our written offer. I was not happy with such interaction.
