They tell you when leaving the place everything looks perfect but charge you $180 from your deposit. They just need money. Donate these poor guys
VERY unprofessional company! I can't quite understand how they are still in business. I have not dealt with them for a number of years now, but see they still are a problem. I was one that had many issues with my 3 years in working with them, but kepted it quiet. After realizing the problems are still there and ones are still being treated like you are just another dollar amount. I felt the need to share a little insight on this company. This company is very good at deception. When issues arise with your apartment it is months before someone comes out to fix it. As soon as we moved into one of there properties we discovered mold under the sink and it took them at least 4 months to get someone out to us. We soon realized they only have one maintenance guy working all their properties. It doesn't make sense to only have one maintenance guy. Long story short, they like to only assign you two keys per unit even if it's a 4 person unit. When your leasing agreement is up in a 4 person unit they expect 4 keys to be turned back into the rental office. Even though you only signed for two keys. If you don't return 4 keys they charge you $50 per key missing. If you pay your rental bill on the due date they charge you a late fee. My roommates and I kept our place spotless. We liked it very clean. Before our move out date came we received a check list of everything that needed to be cleaned before we moved out. We dedicated several days to this checklist and scrubbed our place from top to bottom. We didn't even get half of our deposits back. Our apartment actually looked better than when we moved in!! We even had the carpets shampooed. I could go on and on. I know they have some great apartments available for rent, but it's honestly not worth the time and headache they will put you through. With all the properties they have I don't understand why everyone has not gotten together and sued them for negligence. Anyone have some friends graduating from William and Mary Law that needs a first case? This company can be beat. It just needs some people to stand up against them.
Gotta love when they "fix" our roof by first applying a tarp and then only using tar to "seal" the roof. If i could load the video and photos from my phone of the water currently running into my kitchen light (yes, light as in next to the electrical current in the bulb) i would. This is after 3 years of leasing the same place amd complaining about the leaking roof the entire time. Drywall in the bathroom has a huge soft spot from water. Oh and nothing like waking up to water dripping on you at night while your in bed from your ceiling. Sometime tomorrow we will call, complain again, and more tar will be applied to our roof. So much tar that we have it running out of our gutters (i have photos of that too)
Lived in one of their apartments for two years. The place was great. On the other hand management was horrible. It was the worst management I have ever experienced. We had multiple problems with the house. We called them and they AGREED to fix the problems each time. They would come and leave and the problem still there and never come back to fix it again. They made us to leave their expensive cost heather on while we were out of house for a month for the reason that the pipes MIGHT freeze. We had to pay over $200 for electricity. I bet it would've cost us less to repair the pipes and that is if they froze. Once when no one was home for 5 days, we turned off everything and left the house only to come back and see that HEATER WAS ON. They came in to our place and turned on.
We tried to go to their office to get them, we previously called them to make sure they are open and let them know we are going there. THEY CLOSED THE SHOP TO AVOID US.
Hands down the worst place I have ever lived and the worst real estate company there is. My wife and I lived in Apartment Heights for a year before we moved into our new place and we wish we never had. From the beginning the maintenance service was terrible, the office employees were lazy, the apartment we rented was still filthy when we moved in, and everything about the apartment was run down. They still charge a ridiculous amount for such a low quality piece of property but they made sure they talked it up and showed us their best place before giving us the worst. The ceiling in our bathroom busted because of water damage from the tenant above and when they came to finally fix it and re paint, they threw paint all over the bathroom and didn't come back to get it up or replace it after numerous requests. To top it all off, when we moved out my wife and I made sure the place was spotless because we wanted our security deposit back. They charged us for things that were cleaner than when we moved in and charged us $50 for not turning in one key when all keys were returned. After calling over 10 times and speaking to multiple people who said they would help, they all lied and never would look into my situation. This company is owned and ran by a bunch of low life crooks.
If the rent was even a day late they would charge us extra and when after two years we finally left, they charged us for ridiculous reason to make money out of our deposit. Also it is been a 5 MONTHS and out of three people living there one person got his deposit back by calling them 3 times until they mail the check. And as for the other two, they never received their checks even by calling them and giving them their addresses. What we got was only empty promises that we WILL receive them and our checks are mailed to us. WE NEVER RECEIVED THEM.
We were going out of town. When we go back and still do not receive our checks, we will call the cops on them or sue them.
